Don't preload the shifter, OK?
Jeg tilslutter mig lidt Paw - selvom jeg hurtigt kiggede igennem artiklen .. Står der noget om det "klonk" det giver når man fra frigear sætter den i første (med kobling naturligvis) Nogle gange lyder det grimt .. men sker der noget ved det ?(jeg ved at det kan have noget at gøre med for stram kæde eller for høj tomgang)
So have you figured out why your bike clunks when going into first gear from neutral while stopped? Yep, the countershaft is stopped while the mainshaft is being spun by the engine. Your oil-bath clutch has some drag, especially when the engine is cold and doesn?t disengage all the way.

Jeg fattede heller ikke meget af det tekniske, men hans forklaringer omkring gode og dårlige gearskift, har da forklaret en del "ups'er" fra min side Det med preloaded gearskift chokerer mig dog lidt, da jeg synes det føles meget "smooth" på den måde. You're now applying pressure to the shift selector mechanism and one of the shift forks. The transmission doesn't shift yet because it's in an acceleration or deceleration state. In fact, if you backed off the throttle momentarily, the transmission would likely complete the gear change just like any other clutchless shift. A lot of old timers will tell you this is the way to go. The problem is most of them don't know how the transmission operates.
